Welcome to Early Childhood Outcomes Initiative!
Welcome to the Kentucky Early Childhood Outcomes Initiative website! This initiative is one of three initiatives with the Kentucky General Supervision Enhancement Grant (GSEG), funded through the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Special Education Programs. The other two projects include the Early Childhood Transition Initiative and the Alternate Assessment Initiative.
The goal of the Early Childhood Outcomes Initiative is to pilot a process that can help infant/toddler and preschool programs implement a Comprehensive Continuous Assessment System which provides data on the extent to which young children with disabilities are meeting the Kentucky Early Childhood Standards and the national child outcomes proposed for children with disabilities birth to age 5.
Because the state standards and assessment system is currently voluntary, we are working with 3 programs in central Kentucky to help them design or refine their current assessment system to ensure that:
Training on the use of HighScope.net was conducted for the Anderson County Early Childhood Early Childhood Center (one of the GSEG pilot sites) staff on August 22, 2005. Chris Boisvert, trainer from High/Scope Educational Foundation, presented on the various uses of HighScope.net for classroom teachers and administrators.
