This handbook was written in 1997 with the intent to educate and dispel the myths that often accompany the subject of disabilities. The project is an exciting opportunity to directly influence the way Kentuckians with disabilities are perceived.  Because of the focus on the knowledge and attitudes of people both with and without disabilities, the impact has been far reaching. 

        The booklet, in its current form, has met with overwhelming demand.  In the last two years, over 6500 copies have been distributed free of charge. It will be revised and reprinted in the spring of 2001 and is now available on the internet as well.
