KDE Dropout Prevention Resource Guide

For Educators

Whether you are a classroom teacher, paraeducator, principal, superintendent, guidance counselor, or any of the other educator positions found within a school system, you are well aware of the serious consequences of students dropping out of school. This web-based resource is designed to provide you useful information and strategies for dropout prevention, no matter what capacity it is that you work with students, whether at the individual or systems levels.

The Site Index offers you a good way to view the total offerings of the web site and to go directly to an item of interest.

If you have a specific student in mind when you visit, you may want to use the Student Needs search tool. This tool allows you to enter information specific to a student you are concerned about in order to find strategies closely tailored to that young person.

If you are an administrator and/or are interested in school and/or district-wide improvement, you may wish to use the Standards and Indicators for School Improvement (SISI) search feature. This allows you to select the SISI you are most interested in and the site will link you to dropout strategies/information aligned with that indicator(s).
