NEW APPLICANTS:

The Kentucky Developmental Disabilities Planning Council has awarded the University of Kentucky Interdisciplinary Human Development Institute (IHDI) a third year of funding to continue their Inclusive Education Initiative. Three new Kentucky school sites will be selected to develop or increase high quality inclusive education opportunities for students with developmental disabilities. The sites must be high achieving for all students based on a variety of measures including assessment results, expert recommendation (schools must secure a letter of recommendation from an outside source – e.g. Regional cooperative, institute of higher education utilizing a school for student teachers), and a commitment to close the achievement gap for children with disabilities.

Interested schools should complete the following application by May21, 2004.

SCHOOLS CURRENTLY ENROLLED IN THE INCLUSIVE EDUCATION INITIATIVE:

We are excited to announce that the KY Developmental Disabilities Planning Council has awarded the University of Kentucky Interdisciplinary Human Development Institute (IHDI) a third year of funding to continue the Inclusive Education Initiative. Schools currently participating in the initiative that have achieved the target goal of five students with developmental disabilities served in an inclusive setting eighty percent of the school day are eligible to apply for a further round of funding, selecting from a variety of options.
