Goal: To support teachers in the education of students with significant cognitive disabilities with a focus of Access to the General Curriculum and Inclusive Programming.
SPLASH will consist of twelve 3 hour modules of instruction available through the University of Kentucky Blackboard (Bb) system. Each module will have a similar structure and consist of an overview, lecturettes (PowerPoint and audio), activities, and discussion board, released at intervals from October through May. There will be an orientation meeting on October 5th, 2006, in Lexington, to introduce participants to the Bb system and give an overview of expectations. In April HDI will hold a closing session with a national speaker, a
review of the modules, and a plan for continuing best practice.
