Purpose
This institute is designed to bring families, professionals and paraprofessionals together to learn about quality services for infants and toddlers - with and without special needs.

The infant-Toddler Institute is a statewide event dedicated to improving the lives of children throughout the Commonwealth of Kentucky. We have assembled trainers from across the state and nation to present sessions of interest to anyone interested in the welfare of children -- and particularly to those who provide child care, whether that's as a parent, grandparent, paraprofessional or professional.

Clicking on the menu items at the top and bottom of this page will take you through the site, as will the underlined text links within the pages.

The Infant-Toddler Institute is made up of both a full-day Pre-Institute, and a two-day Institute with over 40 diverse sessions from which to choose.

Nationally Recognized Speakers

Updated This Year
A Make-It/Take-It Reception (M-I/T-I) on the evening of August 11 will allow you to create fun, innovative (and inexpensive) materials with the guidance of early childhood experts -- and to make new friends in the process.

Available Credits
Sessions will be provided by credentialed trainers. For national speakers, the Cabinet for Health and Family Services will be petitioned to accept this training event for early care and education professionals according to statutes and regulations governing the licensure and certification of early care and education programs.

The one-day Pre-Institute will offer 7 (seven) Early Care and Education clock hours and the two-day Institute will offer 6 (six) Early Care and Education clock hours for each day, totalling 12 (twelve) clock hours for the full Institute.

Approved for clock hours from:

  • Kentucky Board of Speech Language Pathology and Audiology
  • Kentucky Board of Social Work
  • Kentucky Board of Nursing
  • Kentucky Board of Physical Therapy
  • WKU for CDA CEUs*

*An application for CDA CEUs from Western Kentucky University will be given to participants who show proof of attendance at the Thursday and Friday sessions. CEU fee of $25 per person applies.
