Who We Are
Kentucky GROW is a three year project funded by the Rehabilitation Services Administration of the US Department of Education. The project is a collaborative effort of the Interdisciplinary Human Development Institute at the University of Kentucky, the Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service, and the Kentucky Department of Vocational Rehabilitation.
Project Staff
Matt John, Project Director
Matt is a former county Extension Specialist from Edmonson County. He works with
the five pilot gardening sites around the state, develops training materials,
promotes Kentucky GROW to employers and the Cooperative Extension Service, and
provides vocational assistance to those who would like to pursue a career in
gardening.
John Hancock, Technical Advisor
John is the director of
Kentucky
AgrAbility and provides Kentucky GROW with expertise in the area of
rehabilitation technology for agricultural applications.
Kathy Sheppard-Jones, Field Coordinator
Kathy helps develop training materials, promotes project sites, provides
vocational assistance, and acts as a
liaison with the Kentucky Department of Vocational Rehabilitation.
Barney Fleming, Principal Investigator
Barney provides assistive technology assessments, promotes the project, and
helps guide Kentucky GROW toward a greener future.
Wade Bailey, Co-Principal Investigator
Wade is employed with the Kentucky Department of Vocational
Rehabilitation. He assists with developing a vision of the project and promotes
Kentucky GROW through agencies that serve Kentuckians with disabilities.
