Kentucky Peer Service Learning ProjectThe Interdisciplinary Human Development Institute - University Center for Excellence, in collaboration with its state DD Partners and the KY Department of Education, has been awarded a two-year project grant funded by the U.S Administration on Developmental Disabilities. This project will work with five KY high schools in: (a) increasing access for students with moderate and severe disabilities
within general education classes and other school extra-curricular activities
through the use of peer tutors; Finally, this project will work with the University of Kentucky and Morehead State University to develop “advanced placement” options for peer tutors to earn college credit for their peer tutoring experiences, in preparation for a possible career in special education. This site is hosted by the Interdisciplinary Human Development Institute – University Center for Excellence, University of Kentucky and was developed in collaboration with the KY Council on Developmental Disabilities, and Morehead State University Department of Elementary, Reading, and Special Education. |
