Kentucky Inclusive Service Learning Partnership |
Inclusive Service Learning PartnershipThe Inclusive Service Learning Partnership (ISLP) is a one year grant awarded to the Interdisciplinary Human Development Institute (IHDI) through a cooperative arrangement between the Institute for Community Inclusion at the University of Massachusetts, the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) and the Association of University Centers on Disabilities (AUCD). ISLP is part of the National Service Inclusion Project. The Inclusive Service Learning Partnership (ISLP) will provide seed money for the purpose of planting, fertilizing, and bringing to life an exciting partnership between the IHDI at the University of Kentucky and the Community and Family Engagement Branch of the Kentucky Department of Education (KDE). This partnership will bring together our currently separate focuses, service learning and inclusion of persons with disabilities. This partnership proposes to work on the following: embedding materials on inclusion of students with disabilities in KyServe training events such as the Service Learning Institute and the Train-the Trainer Seminar; sharing of information between the focus areas; providing information and technical assistance to one another; and working with Kentucky’s Youth Councils to include students with disabilities in leadership roles. This site is hosted by the Interdisciplinary Human Development Institute – University Center for Excellence, University of Kentucky and was developed in collaboration with the KY Council on Developmental Disabilities, and Morehead State University Department of Elementary, Reading, and Special Education. |
