Purpose
The annual Early Care and Education Trainers Institute is a statewide event dedicated to improving the instructional skills of trainers throughout Kentucky. It offers in-depth training sessions designed to assist credentialed trainers, faculty and others in developing new skills, strategies and methods to increase their effectiveness as trainers/instructors – resulting in more effective transfer of learning for their participants/students.

Overview
Building on the basic skills presented during the Fundamentals of Effective Training (FET) seminar, the Trainers Institute utilizes expert national and statewide presenters to address additional topics of interest.

Credentialed trainers may apply the awarded clock hours toward their Adult Learning/Effective Training Design requirement for renewal of the Trainer’s Credential Levels 2 – 4.

The Trainers Institute is made up of both a half-day Pre-Institute, with two concurrent training sessions offered, and a one-day Institute offering four, half-day sessions that repeat.

New this Year: Training Levels for Each Session
Trainers who attended last year’s Trainers Institute suggested that it would be helpful if the training sessions were classified according to levels. In response to that need, a state team developed a classification system to be used for the 2009 Trainers Institute. To download a guideline for the session levels, click here.
